“Our mission is to source the most unique diamonds and gemstones from across the globe and craft them into tomorrow’s heirlooms. We take the time to truly connect with our clients, creating memorable timepieces that transcend decades, with a deep rooted emotional connection”
– Vania Leles, Founder
Founded in 2011 by Vania Leles, VanLeles works directly with leading craftspeople and gemstone mines across the world to craft exquisite and unique fine jewellery for discerning collectors and private clients alike. Nestled in the heart of London’s fine jewellery district, the VanLeles atelier offers a sense-awakening and personal experience, paired with visionary design.
Following a distinguished education in gemmology and jewellery design at GIA, Vania went on to work with some of the world’s most prestigious design houses. This invaluable insight into the diamond and fine jewellery industry now drives a pursuit for perfection in all aspects of the VanLeles brand. From the artistry that is poured into each piece, through to the finishing touches, VanLeles is dedicated to excellence.
Born and raised in West Africa’s Guinea-Bissau, Vania is committed to ethical sourcing and conflict-free stones, travelling to distinguished sources and selecting only the finest materials. The VanLeles collections use exclusively Kimberly Certified diamonds, ensuring that gems are not procured from conflict areas or illegitimate sources.
In addition to the bespoke service, VanLeles offers contemporary and timeless High Jewellery collections in Vania’s distinct signature style. These collections range from romantic bridal designs through to bold, iconic works of art, which showcase Vania’s talent as a designer and the brand’s ambition to spotlight the world’s rarest and most unique gemstones.
As an African who has travelled extensively all over the continent, Vania is acutely aware of the importance of ethical diamond trading.
VanLeles Diamonds adheres to a strict policy of using only diamonds from suppliers that comply with the Kimberly Process Certification Scheme (KPCS), a monitoring scheme which guarantees that diamonds do not come from conflict areas or illegitimate sources.
VanLeles Diamonds operates under the principle that it is possible to source beautiful quality diamonds and create exquisite pieces of jewellery whilst adhering to strong moral and ethical codes.
Southern Africa supplies sixty-five percent of the world’s gem-quality diamonds and most of the suppliers to VanLeles Diamonds mine in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.
The $8.4 billion generated by the legal trading of African diamonds now helps to pay for the education, healthcare, clean water and food for millions of people in these regions.
Diamonds can change the lives of more than just the wearer if sourced ethically and VanLeles Diamonds is committed to ensuring that all diamonds are 100% conflict-free.
All Van Leles diamonds are certified by the most respected laboratories in the diamond industry, known for their consistency and unbiased grading systems.
A diamond certificate is a report created by a team of experts, in which the diamond is graded, measured, and scrutinized by trained gemmologists.
The certificate includes an in-depth analysis of the diamond’s dimensions, clarity, colour, polish, symmetry, and other characteristics.
During consultation we will always show our clients the certificates of their chosen diamonds.
