Loose Diamonds

When designing a bespoke piece, clients are invited to select their preferred loose diamond cut and specify their required clarity, carat and colour.

Round Brilliant
Round Brilliant

The round brilliant cut is the most popular and most researched diamond shape, and accordingly the most widely available cut on the market. Round brilliant diamonds usually have 57 facets; if the stone has a polished culet this number increases to 58.

Princess
Princess

The princess cut is the second most popular cut loose diamond after a round brilliant. It has pointed corners and is traditionally square in shape. Princess-cut diamonds can vary greatly in how square or rectangular they are.

Emerald
Emerald

Emerald-cut diamonds are rectangular in shape. They have a quieter look that makes them serenely beautiful and elegant. Due to their larger and more open table, emerald cut loose diamonds highlight the clarity (the diamond inclusions). As a result we recommend a diamond with higher clarity grade for emerald-cut designs.

Asscher
Asscher

Also known as square emerald-cut loose diamond, the Asscher cut has a more subtle look which makes it beautifully elegant. Because this shape highlights the clarity (inclusions) of the stone, consider choosing a diamond that is exceptional in clarity.

Radiant

This cut is versatile and popular. Radiant-cut diamonds are identified by their signature trimmed corners, while they vary in their degree of rectangularity.

Cushion
Cushion

A cushion-cut diamond can be square or rectangular, with rounded corners that resemble a pillow. This unique shape has been popular for more than a century. Cushion cuts have large facets, allowing greater separation of white light into spectral colours.

Oval
Oval

An oval diamond shape has beautiful brilliance that is similar to a round diamond. Oval loose diamonds are also very popular as their length can accentuate long, slender fingers.

Pear
Pear

The unique look of the pear shape makes it a popular choice for a variety of diamond jewellery, such as pendants, drop earrings and chandeliers. For engagement rings the length of the diamond creates a subtle slimming effect on the fingers.

Heart
Heart

The unique look of the heart-shaped diamond makes it a distinctive choice for diamond jewellery for celebrations. The most important elements to consider with the heart shape are the quality of the curved cut and finish as these determine the diamond’s beauty.

Marquise
Marquise

The shape of a marquise diamond can maximize carat weight, giving the client a much larger-looking diamond.
